Featured Band: The Railway Social Club
It’s not often I get to see live bands. Lucky for me, I got to see these guys on my vacation to Birmingham. They performed their Nowhere EP and a cover song, and I instantly fell in love with them.
The Railway Social Club is an acoustic duo based in Birmingham, UK. They have been making music since they were at school performing renditions of Simon & Garfunkel songs. Their sound is much indebted to the harmony singing of the 1960s with other large influences being The Everly Brothers and The Beatles. Now as an original duo, their writing is finding its place within the ‘indie folk’ scene with vocal harmony hooks and sounds that echo the 1960s. Their debut EP, Nowhere, is released as a demo and tells of the context of writing music in the city. The EP demonstrates a range of styles from the lively Nowhere to the Ugandan influenced How To Manufacture Sound. Within these tracks of varying influence, the EP demonstrates the unique sound of The Railway Social Club through a focus on the harmony-rich voices.

Featured Band: Signals.
So far, there’s no official EP out yet, however, I have heard two songs of theirs; “Square Wheels” (Song featured here) and “Take This Ship”. Of course, you can also check out their EP teaser here.
WE ARE SIGNALS - an alternative four-piece from the South of England. We feature Ellie Price’s piano parts and vocal chords, guitarscapes and harmonies of Mikey Webber, all sounds percussive from Ryan Beauchamp, and Dom Hough with bass lines and backing harmonies.
Signals take collective inspiration from artists such as Bon Iver, Manchester Orchestra, Thrice, and Local Natives. From this, they have created an eclectic mix of intricate melodies, energetic rhythm sections, anthemic atmospheres and ambient effects: all entwined with subtle and soaring three-part vocals. Prepare to be taken on a journey of life, love and loss via square wheels, sinking ships, and a little bit of hope with their eponymous debut E.P. -

BAUER IS AN ALTERNATIVE POP PROJECT HAILING FROM THE NORTH OF ENGLAND LEAD BY SINGER/SONGWRITER GREG MATTHEWS & PRODUCER/MUSICIAN NEIL TREPPAS. Featured Band: Gentlemen’s Club
I remember listening to their track, Mermaid, and being really addicted to it for a really long time. Their first three tracks before their new album is what made me a fan of these guys; Mermaid, Queensbury Rules and Forget the Rose. But they’ve really done it in their new album, “Everything in Colour”.
