Sirens has an amazing tune to it as the drums are simply addictive to listen to. And of course, Haunt You has got the be my ultimate favourite. It was the first song I listened from The Pack A.D, and my first impression was that I love the vocals. The vocals are incredibly strong that Becky Black pulls up the bar for many male vocalist that cannot match her beyond-awesome vocals. And that’s just understating it. Lights reminds of Halloween, and when Halloween comes along, this will be the song on constant repeat.
8 has a Joan Jett feel to it, reminds of a little of ‘Bad Reputation’. I love the sexy opening to it and for me to compare a band to Joan Jett, the band has to be incredible, which they are. Rid of Me has a more White Stripes and The Black Keys mash-up feel to them. It’s sexy, wild and fun to listen to, and it’s just something you want to jump around to.
Sea Sick has a different feel compared to the rest of the tracks. This song shows just how versatile Becky is that her vocals can be so incredibly strong and then in this song, so much sweeter and more relaxed. Take makes me want to clap my hands to the beat of the drums. You can feel your heart syncing to the beat and Becky’s smooth vocals could turn anyone on in this song. Positronic has like a crazy Punk, Rock, Electronic sound to it. It’s simply unique, not sounding like the rest.
Body Parts has a mysterious sound to it in the opening, and then the chorus comes along, you just want to sing along, making it unpredictable. It returns back to it’s mysteries, but it just keeps you hanging till the end of it. Pieces has the same feel as Sea Sick. Both these songs have a more softer feel than the rest. Cardinal Rule once again, has mind-blowing drum skills. It’s sexy, suave and it makes you melt.
I love how Ride starts out crazy and then it settles down and starts a build in you, just waiting for the track to explode. And it does. Hear Me Out reminds me a little of The Black Keys and Joan Jett together. Being the last track of the album, it gives the album a nice finish that just makes you want to rape the “Replay” button every single time.
Overall, they remind me of The White Stripes, The Black Keys, Joan Jett and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club all together. And yes, I love them all, making The Pack A.D perfect if you’re a fan of all of them. They’re seriously underrated. They’re mind-blowing. Definitely a 8.9/10.
